Preparing for the First CSR Day – 23rd August

Updated: 5 days ago

On the 23rd of August, I headed down to the Woodland Allotment Site in Burbage to start clearing and flattening the space, getting it ready for our first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Day with the engineers from Jaguar Land Rover.

The greenhouse was completely overgrown—wild plants had taken over, and years of neglect meant there was a lot of clearing to do. Armed with gloves, tools, and plenty of determination, I got stuck in, pulling out weeds, removing dead plants, and clearing the pathways to create a more workable space for the volunteers.

It was a tough job, but as the hours passed, the transformation started to take shape. With each pile of weeds removed, it became clearer that this space had huge potential. The overgrown greenhouse was finally visible again, and by the end of the day, we had a clear foundation to build on.

This was an essential first step in getting the site ready for our CSR volunteers on the 6th of September. Their help would take things even further, dismantling the damaged greenhouse structure and preparing the space for our wellbeing garden.

Looking back at these before-and-after shots, it’s incredible to see how much progress has already been made. This is just the beginning of something truly special!

Stay tuned for the next stage as we continue to bring this space to life.
